"Fellas... when we're through here.... Y'all are gonna be wearin'... gold-plated diapers...."
"What does that mean -?"
"Never question Bruce Dickenson!"
It's taken me ages and many attempts to learn how to make a decent design out of this guy's bizarre face. Christopher Walken seems to be one of the more difficult faces to caricature because so many features are prominent.
Some of my thought process, if it helps anybody - I picked the best I could think of to emphasize - the eyes, mouth, and hair - and added the most value contrast in those areas. I also emphasized the length of Walken's face so I had room to arrange all the features, and I emphasized the heighth of his hair rather than the width to bring out his skeletal forehead, which is also prominent. And of course I threw in the wide jaw: that had the effect of avoiding a rectangular depiction of Walken's face, which would be visually uninteresting. The glasses, costume, and props are self-explanatory.
On a side note - as proud as I am of this piece, having never really successfully depicted Walken before, I should have avoided the negative space while I was planning it. Don't make the same mistake, kids! Fill that paper! Also, his eyes, although prominent as I'd intended, are a little more Halloween-ish and cheesy than necessary, even though I still see Walken in them. On my next attempt I'll be sure to find more interesting shapes to use.
And the only preSCRIPtion---
is MOAR COWBELL!!"
Spot on caricature! I love the inclusion of the cowbell too. And the red- makes it so extreme!
Next you gotta do a piece of him as 'The Continental'.
"The champagne you have thrown...it stings my eyes!"
Gold.
Here's some "MO CWBEL" :
